Overview:

Brand Wave is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Packaging Designer to join our design team. As a Packaging Designer, you will be responsible for designing innovative and functional packaging solutions that represent the brand’s identity and appeal to consumers. You will collaborate with the creative team and clients to create visually appealing, on-brand packaging designs that ensure product protection and stand out on the shelves. Your work will be key in bringing products to life and enhancing their appeal in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing Packaging Concepts: Create innovative packaging designs for a variety of products, ensuring that they align with the brand’s identity and messaging.
  • Branding and Visual Consistency: Maintain brand consistency across all packaging designs, ensuring that the designs are visually appealing and reflect the brand's values and aesthetics.
  • Product Protection and Functionality: Design packaging that not only looks great but also ensures the safety and protection of the product during shipping, handling, and display.
  • Collaboration with Clients: Work closely with clients to understand their product, brand, and market needs. Translate their requirements into compelling packaging designs.
  • Collaborating with the Creative Team: Work closely with graphic designers, marketers, and other team members to ensure the design aligns with the overall marketing strategy.
  • Prototyping and Mockups: Create prototypes and packaging mockups to present to clients for feedback and approval.
  • Packaging Materials: Research and recommend materials for packaging that align with budget, sustainability goals, and the nature of the product.
  • Production Liaison: Work with manufacturers and printers to ensure the packaging is produced according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable and eco-friendly packaging options wherever possible, in line with current industry trends and client preferences.
  • Final Artwork Preparation: Prepare final packaging designs for production, ensuring that they meet technical requirements and are ready for printing.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in packaging design, with a portfolio demonstrating creative and functional packaging solutions.
  • Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and other industry-standard tools.
    • A solid understanding of packaging production processes, materials, and print production techniques.
    • Strong knowledge of branding and how to design packaging that communicates the brand's message effectively.
    • Excellent visual, conceptual, and creative skills with a keen eye for detail.
    • Ability to create prototypes and packaging mockups for client presentations.
    • Familiarity with sustainable packaging trends and eco-friendly materials.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
